Full Stack Engineer Contractor Role Now Open!

REACH Pathways is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer (Contract) to support both debugging and

new feature development over the next six months. This role requires comfort working across

the stack—from front-end user interfaces in React, to back-end services in Python, to

integrations with Firebase and Google Cloud. The contractor will be responsible for delivering

both stability improvements and scoped feature enhancements, ensuring the platform remains

reliable, scalable, and aligned with the product roadmap.

This is a project-based contract. The engineer will work independently, setting their own hours

and methods, while coordinating with the REACH Engineering team to prioritize fixes and

features and deliver high-quality code.

Responsibilities

Debugging & Stability

● Diagnose and resolve front-end and back-end issues.

● Monitor error logs and crash reports (Sentry, Firebase, GCP) and deliver fixes.

● Document solutions and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.

New Feature Development

● Implement scoped front-end components in React (JavaScript).

● Build or extend back-end services in Python to support new features.

● Create and test new API endpoints as needed.

● Integrate new features with existing Firebase and GCP infrastructure.

● Ensure features are optimized for performance, accessibility, and scalability.

● Create mockups and schema diagrams in Figma

Collaboration

● Review requirements and provide estimates for debugging and feature development.

● Share regular updates on completed fixes and feature delivery.

● Provide technical documentation for newly implemented solutions.

Deliverables

● Resolved and documented bug fixes across the platform.

● Functional front-end features aligned with design specifications.

● Updated back-end services and APIs supporting new functionality.

● Integrated and tested code committed to the repository.

● Technical documentation for new features and fixes.

● Weekly progress reports summarizing work completed.

Required Skills & Experience

● Proficiency in React (JavaScript) and Python development.

● Experience debugging across the stack

● Experience mocking up UI in Figma

● Familiarity with Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Functions).

● Experience with Google Cloud Platform for logging and deployments.

● Knowledge of bug tracking and monitoring tools (Sentry preferred).

● Ability to work independently on scoped deliverables.

● Scrum and Agile knowledge (Nice to have, Asana, Jira, trello, etc)

Engagement Details

● Length: 6 months (contract)

● Schedule: Contractor sets own hours; deliverables reviewed weekly; 10 hours per week max

● Compensation: Contractors can negotiate their rate based on education and experience

● Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
